Katee’s treatment going well, but difficult.

dclock September 7th, 2007

Katee had her first 3 day chemo treatment this week.  The first two days went pretty well, but on the night of the second day she became ill.  Pretty much nausea and aches.  She was able to sleep with the portable chemo injector, but it did bug her a bit.  Today she is resting.  Katee is not hungry, and everything tastes funny.  The toughest part is that she is very sensitive to hot and cold.  A cold drink hurts her teeth and throat, so she has to eat and drink things at room temperature.  Katee will have the next week to get her strength and appetite back, as her chemo treatments are every 14 days.  So far her hair is hanging on!  It is tough to watch her go through this.  We are very proud of her strength and positive attitude.  Thankfully, Ami has had some time to spend with Katee, so she is not too stir crazy yet.  Six more months of chemo to go…….

Thank you for sharing your story. It’s really helpful to read about what chemotherapy is like and raise awareness to someone like me who is not aware of how cancer is treated. You are brave to take this public and I could tell that you both have faith in God to carry you through this trial. May He bless you through this struggle!

    Katee,

We just heard about you and your dad. You both are in our thoughts and prayers. If there is anything, we can do please let us know. We are only a few houses away.

    Connie, Joe, Jenn and Daryl
