Katee gets a clean scan!

Katee’s PET scan came back yesterday, and the results indicate no presence of cancer! We are pretty excited about this. Katee is just over halfway through her chemo treatments. She would like to quit (as anyone who has had chemo can attest to) but these good results should encourage her to finish up the series.
I have recovered from my pneumonia, and had blood-work yesterday to ensure this was true. If the results come back and show that I really have fully recovered, then I will have a PET scan next week. This one will help determine how much time the doctors believe I have left. They have been wrong so many times, I will not put much faith in the results of the PET scan.
My neighbor, Tom Garcia, has shared your story with me and I am so moved by it. It is important for you to know how you and your daughter have touched lives of those whom you don’t even know. Your message of “one more day means everything” has reminded me of what is important in life, or should I say, WHO is important. I will give both of my kids an extra hug tonight and thank God for our many blessings. I am always amazed at how God chooses ways to work through people. As hard as it is to understand, we must trust His path for us. Thank you so much for sharing your story with the world. As for me, I will never forget it.

I read with much excitment and happiness at Katee’s Pet scan results. NO CANCER! I can only imagine your tears of joy. God is good.
Hang in there Darrin. I still expect to see you and Kim at the Farmer’s market next Summer so don’t disappoint me.
